Privileged location
Centre of Garmisch: the “Marienplatz” at the eastern end of the pedestrian zone of Garmisch is about 900 metres away from us. There you find shops, cafés and restaurants as well as an idyllic park. At the opposite end there is the “Richard Strauß Platz” with an attractive shopping centre which opened just recently.
Near hiking trails: the Mount “Kramer”, the nearest hill, invites for walks on its marvellously sun-exposed slopes. The plateau trail “Kramerplateauweg”, being linked to the footpath network, is a good start for hikes. It really deserves its name, since it is a very “comfortable” hiking trail. It is about 900 metres away from our house.
Ski lifts & cable cars: all transport facilities of the company “Bayerische Zugspitzbahn”; this means the cable cars of the “Classic” skiing areas “Hausberg” and “Kreuzeck/Alpspitze” as well as the rack railway “Zugspitzbahn” can be reached within a distance of 2.5 kilometres. The local busses with different destinations run every 20 minutes on workdays just in front of our house. It takes about 8 minutes to reach the different cable car stations by bus.
