Gorge “Partnachklamm”: over a length of 800 metres the impressing torrent “Partnach” has carved a vertical 80 metres deep bed into the rocks and has formed one of the most beautiful gorges in the Alpine region. It takes hardly 10 minutes by car to reach the gorge, which is about 5 kilometres away. You can also take the local bus (every 20 minutes on weekdays), which will take you there within about 20 minutes.
Lake “Eibsee”: the deep blue glittering lake “Eibsee”, the juwel of the “Werdenfelser Land” is marvellously nestled in the rocky landscape at a height of almost 1000 metres. The lake “Eibsee” is justifiably considered as one of the most beautiful and cleanest lakes of Upper Bavaria. Having a walk around the lake (circular trail of 7.2 kilometres; walking time about 2 hours) you will enjoy the marvellous views over the lake and the impressing slopes of the Mount “Waxenstein” as well as over the famous Mount “Zugspitze”. The blue bus in direction Grainau takes you directly to the “Eibsee” within about 15 minutes.
Mount “Zugspitze”: being almost 3000 metres high, the “Zugspitze” is the highest peak of Germany. Given its impressing dimensions, this mountain is a setting for all kinds of mountain experiences, which will remain in memory for a long time. This fantastic area caters for many tastes, whether you are nature lover, skier, sun lover or hiker. There are two ways to reach the summit: you can go to the central station by bus and travel from there onto the glacier on the rack railway “Zugspitzbahn”. From there you can reach the peak using the glacier cable car; alternatively you can take the bus in direction Grainau to the “Eibsee” and then climb onto the summit using the cable car.
